Welcome to Memorial Elementary!

On behalf of Ms. Harris, Principal, and staff at Memorial School it is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome your child to join Memorial School for the 2021-2022 school year. Memorial Elementary takes pride in providing a strong academic program, as well as, building confidence, self-esteem and friendships.

Masks
Masks will be required to be worn indoors by all staff and students.
There will be mask breaks built into the student day. Teachers have discretion as to the exact time for a mask break, but there will be a break every hour of the day.

What to Bring to School:
Please have your child bring a backpack, water bottle and a classroom snack for the morning. If your child is not participating in our lunch program, please pack a nut free lunch for your child. All other supplies will be provided by the school including iPad. Please review and sign the online form below:

iPad
All students will be issued an iPad. These iPads will stay at school unlike last year when we had remote learning.

School Hours:
In person school hours are 8:10 am - 2:15 pm Monday through Friday. At 2:15 pm students are dismissed from school and go home.

School Lunch and Classroom Snack:
The free school lunch and breakfast program will continue this year. Your child may order lunch in the classroom with their teacher and it will be packed for them to eat in the classroom. A breakfast for the next morning is also packed in with the lunch. Students also have a snack in their classroom in the morning. Please pack a peanut and tree nut free snack for them to have in the classroom. Please see the lunch menu emailed to you for September to see what is available each day.

School Bus:
Buses will go back to dropping off students in the back of the building this year.

Please look at the bus schedule emailed to you to find out your child’s bus number and times your child will be picked up at the bus stop.

If your child does not intend to ride the bus, please fill out the change form below:

If you need to change this dismissal plan for any reason (for example, picking them up by car, dismissal, etc.), please use our Online Change of Dismissal Form to notify us of the change by 9:00 AM.

By Car:
If you need to drive or pick up your child instead of riding the bus, please go to the front of the building and call the office or ring the bell and the office staff will be happy to help you.

Arriving Late or Dismissing Early:
If you need to bring your child in late (after 8:10 am) or dismiss them early (before 2:15 am), please park in the front of the school and ring the bell to inform us you are here. We will then call the classroom to have your child come down. Again, please be sure to fill out the change of dismissal form by 9:00 a.m.

Absent from School:
If your child will be absent from school, please call our Absentee Line at 781-273-7649 and leave a message stating the child's name, teacher, and reason for being absent before 8:30 am.
